PARIS (Reuters) – Valeo plans to double by 2030 the number of components it repairs and resells each year to help address the issue of scarce resources, the French supplier’s CEO said at a keynote at the Munich auto show.
Valeo today repairs one million old products per year, mainly alternators, starters, brakes and clutches.
“By 2030, we will double this volume of remanufactured products, in particular we will extend our existing remanufactured portfolio to answer to the ever increasing electronic content on cars, which is driven by the electric and the automated cars”, Christophe Perillat said.
Valeo will for instance launch remanufactured front cameras by the end of this year.
