Amid speculation of reasons surrounding Wednesday’s resignation of City of Sheboygan Human Resources Director Adam Westbrook, City Attorney Charles Adams has strongly rebuked claims of inappropriate conduct by Westbrook. Those claims were contained in materials connected to an open records request filed last week Thursday.
In a news release from the City on Thursday morning, Adams, reacting to our story, stated that, concerning an investigation: “Adams spoke to several people who were directly part of the conversation. Within hours of receiving the initial information he was able to determine that the conversation was entirely appropriate and above board.”
Adams asserts that there was no relation between the resignation and the alleged offense.
WHBL also stands by the need to report when city officials are required to respond to an official request for information; the basis of that request, and the response.
