CHIPPEWA COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A decision on whether the accused killer of Lily Peters will be tried as an adult won’t be reached until early next year.
The now 15-year-old, only referred to as C.P.B. due to his age, is charged with first degree intentional homicide and sexual assault of a child in the death of 10-year-old Lily Peters of Chippewa Falls in April of last year.
Wednesday was the final day of a reverse waiver hearing in Chippewa County Court, with the prosecution and defense questioning witnesses about which court C.P.B. should be tried in.
Written statements from both are due by November 17, with each side able to respond by December 8. Judge Steven H. Gibbs is anticipated to make his decision in January.
