Groundbreaking for a new $50 million senior living community development is planned for the spring of next year. The project, a collaboration between Charter Senior Living of Naperville, Illinois, DMK Development Group of Louisville, Kentucky, West Bend-based general contractor American Companies and locally-owned Van Horn Real Estate expects to build the development of 175 senior apartments, 108 independent living apartments, 46 assisted living apartments and 21 memory care suites within the North Town master-planned development just northeast of State Highway 42 and North 40th Street in the Town of Sheboygan.
In announcing the project on Monday, Co-Founder and CEO of Charter Senior Living Keven Bennema said that Charter Senior Living wanted to offer the city of Sheboygan a community “with flexibility and multiple lifestyle options that enable seniors to stay with us throughout their life’s path”, and “given the changing times, Charter Senior Living has made it a priority to provide seniors with s sense of security while we continue to share our mission of enhancing the human spirit.”
Among the services offered, Charter Senior Living of Sheboygan will provide specialized memory care support through their signature “Flourish Memory Care” program, which focuses on all aspects of wellness – including cognitive, creative, community, motivation, physical, social and spiritual aspects in a seamless environment which can add whatever additional support is required as needed.
