MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers blew out the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-1 in their series opener from American Family Field on Thursday night.
Sal Frelick blasted a three-run homer and drove in five runs while Brice Turang also launched a three-run shot. Adrian Houser got the win after pitching six innings of one-run ball.
Milwaukee improved to 59-51 and are back in first place in the NL Central after the Cincinnati Reds lost to the Cubs.
Mitch Keller got the loss after surrendering eight runs on nine hits over five innings. Jack Suwinski drove in the lone run for Pittsburgh,
Game two of the four-game set takes place Friday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
