WESTON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Governor Tony Evers stopped by central Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon to tour the Weston YMCA.
Evers spoke about the importance of ensuring that childcare centers get the funding and support that they need.
“These childcare places are absolutely connected directly with our economy,” said Governor Evers. “If these folks fail, we’re going to start seeing other problems.”
When asked about his biggest takeaways, Evers stated that maintaining the quality of the centers and schools remains a top priority of his.
A recent Marquette Law Poll found that 66% of respondents are satisfied with the public schools/public childcare facilities in their community, while just 31% were dissatisfied.
