MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A new Wisconsin Supreme Court justice will be sworn in Tuesday.
Former Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz will join the state’s highest court after defeating former Justice Daniel Kelly in April.
The arrival of Protasiewicz to the state bench will shift the balance of the court from a majority of conservative justices to liberal at a time when such high-profile cases as Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban, the state’s legislative maps and election laws and results are expected to be decided on.
