MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A member of Wisconsin’s House delegation called out actions by Republicans on the Appropriations Committee last week.
2nd District Democrat Mark Pocan scolded Republicans who combed through more than 2,600 earmarks and struck three – providing housing and assistance for those in need in the LGBTQ+ community.
“The fact that you would take away members earmarks simply because they refer to the LGBTQI plus community is insane. It’s bigoted,” said Pocan.
Maryland Republican Andy Harris likened the programs to the Ku Klux Klan and said they support “communists.” Pocan, who is gay, also spoke of threats and a beating he received because of that.
