MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Wisconsin now has more people working in more jobs than at any point in its history.
Department of Workforce Development chief economist Dennis Winters says Wisconsin has over three million jobs filled, and another month where unemployment is under 3%. He calls it a double edged sword for employers.
“With that few workers that are available in a growing economy, employers are set back a little bit in a kind of a new environment where the labor force is competitive,” said Winters.
Winters says it’s a good time for employees though, as the labor force has more options to go and find a better paying job or one with better benefits. That’s pushing wages higher across the country.
