MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Assembly Speaker Robin Vos wants to reinstate tax cuts vetoed from the state budget.
A day after Governor Tony Evers signed the budget, minus 3 billion dollars in tax cuts, Vos says he’ll put them into separate legislation.
Vos said he plans to “stand up and fight” against the Democratic governor and that taxpayers will know who’s on their side.
At an event in Wausau, Evers said he’ll keep vetoing those tax cuts.
The governor said if Republicans were concerned with middle-class tax cuts, they would have kept those he included in his original budget.
