MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — State Legislative Democrats want to ensure that Wisconsin women have a right to birth control.
Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez says a newly introduced package of bills would ensure that women can continue to access vital health care.
“So that no courts or lawmakers who are hell-bent on inserting their beliefs into places where they do not belong, can further infringe upon an individual’s right to freely make their own health care decisions,” said Rodriguez.
Republicans on Wednesday did bring a bill to the floor of the Assembly that would allow pharmacists to prescribe contraceptives directly, without involving a doctor.
