WAUSAU, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — U.S. House Republicans passed their border security proposal Thursday along party lines, with only two Republicans joining all Democrats in voting against it.
Wisconsin 7th District Republican Tom Tiffany said it’s time to restore the rule of law; and that Americans are tired of the chaos.
“This bill would restart border wall construction, it would add more Border Patrol agents, it would crack down on people gaming our asylum laws and it would end the failed policy of catch and release,” said Tiffany.
Republicans timed the bill’s passage to coincide with the rollback of the Trump-era Title 42 policy on the southern border.
The bill won’t pass the Senate.
