MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Legislative Republicans will start reworking the Governor’s budget proposal.
The Joint Finance Committee is set to start the budget process late Tuesday morning.
Republicans are expected to remove much of Governor Tony Evers’ proposed budget and start writing their own replacement.
This year’s budget will have to deal with billions of dollars in expected tax surplus, with conflicting ideas on how to spend it.
Governor Evers will have the final say once the budget makes it to his desk.
