With the National COVID Emergency ended and cases fading further into the background, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health is scaling back its COVID-19 reporting.
The agency on Friday said that its weekly schedule of reporting has now ended with the most recent release. Going forward Sheboygan County’s COVID-19 situation will be summarized on a monthly basis and released along with the Public Health newsletter, with the next issue coming on May 12th.
As of this past Friday, 35,312 confirmed cases have been logged in Sheboygan County during the pandemic, with 302 of those resulting in deaths – one of those added within the past week. As of now, only four are still hospitalized among the 1,473 who’ve needed treatment.
The Community Level here is low with 4.5 cases per 100,000 in the past 7 days, and there are no signs of an impending uptick in cases. The County DPH says that as long as the level of transmission remains low, it will stay with monthly updates of the disease that’s now been circulating for over three years.
