MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Another call for full cannabis legalization in Wisconsin.
State Senator Melissa Agard, a Madison Democrat, has pushed the issue for years – but notes Republicans remain opposed.
“I’m not sure if it’s based on ‘Reefer Madness’ or misinformation, or just the fact that they don’t want to listen to the people of Wisconsin,” said Agard.
Agard on Thursday – 4/20 – announced a “Grass Routes Tour” to gather public input on full legalization.
“In communities like Madison who have taken action to decriminalize, we have not seen the ground fall out.” said Agard. “In fact, our law enforcement officers are able to spend their time focusing on real crime, whether it’s fentanyl poisoning, whether it’s gang activity, domestic violence.”
The tour will make stops in Platteville, Wauwatosa, Eau Claire and Wausau.
