MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A new state law could make it easier to impound the vehicles of reckless drivers.
Legislation signed by Governor Tony Evers on Monday allows local governments to pass ordinances to impound vehicles of people with repeat reckless driving offenses and unpaid fines.
The bill passed both chambers of the Legislature with strong bipartisan support.
Separate legislation which increases some reckless driving penalties has passed the Assembly and is awaiting a Senate vote.
Evers has indicated he’d sign that as well.
