
Willard H. Kuhlow, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2023.
He was born on January 4, 1930, in Sheboygan Falls at the family home to the late Albert and Ella
(Rautmann) Kuhlow. Willard attended Monroe School and also at MATC where he earned his barber
certificate. Willard proudly served his country in the United States Army from April of 1951 until March of
1953, stationed in Alaska. On November 10, 1956, Willard was united in marriage to Jeanette Hinz at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2016. He was an
active member at Trinity Lutheran Church, The Howards Grove Lions Club, where he was the last
charter member, and at the VFW Post 9924.
In 1956, Willard acquired what is known today as the Howards Grove Barbershop. He made many loyal
customers and lifelong friends over the years. He cut hair right up to the last day.
Willard was an avid reader, enjoyed walking (and waving), but above all he loved spending time with his
family. He was not shy about sharing his faith. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Renee (Joe) Brotz, Aaron (Kathy) Kuhlow and Rachel (Dean) Bramstedt;
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Adam (Tana) Kuhlow and their children, Aria and Birdie, Samuel
(Danielle) Bramstedt and their children, Claire and Nora, Sarah (Kyle) Wolff, Luke (Megan) Bramstedt
and their children, Lydia, Jesse and Joanna, Anna (special friend Joe Ebert) Bramstedt; siblings, Delores
Wehmeier, LaVern (Milton) Wippermann, Ann (Wayne) Grunwald and Daniel Kuhlow; sisters-in-law,
Emagene Kuhlow and Betty Wippermann; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, Willard was preceded in death by great-grandsons, Shephard and
Abraham Kuhlow; siblings, Walter, Robert, Ruben, LeRoy, Helena, Ruth, Nelda, Gerda and LuEllen.
A Funeral Service with military honors for Willard will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 18,
2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 WI-32 in Howards Grove, with Pastor Noah Fremer officiating.
The family will greet visitors at church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Willard
will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery.
