Thomas Herbert Stelter, 68, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023 when God called him home with his family at his side. Tom was born to the late Rev. Herbert and Gloria (Sackett) Stelter on April 21, 1954 in DeKalb, Illinois. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1972. Tom continued his pursuit of knowledge at both UW-Sheboygan and Concordia University where he studied history. Tom was united in marriage to Sandra Smith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1974. He worked in the cast iron foundry for nearly 25 years at Kohler Co. and retired as a maintenance foreman. Tom was a wonderful and loving husband who loved his children and his grandchildren. He was also an avid Wisconsin sports fan.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; children, Bobby Stelter, Eric (Tammy) Stelter, Michael (Lisa) Stelter and Katie (Jack) Rauwerdink; grandchildren, Dillon, Logan, Austin, Victoria, Ashley, Brandon, Taylor (Travis DuMez), Caden, Riley, Brady, Hailey, Justin (Brianna) and Jared; great-grandchildren, Elleona, Pierson and Kinsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Stelter; father-in-law, Clifford Smith Sr.; mother-in-law, Lillian Smith; brothers-in-law, Charlie Smith, Darryl Krenn Sr. and Russel Kilgore.
There will be a funeral service held for Tom at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave., Sheboygan, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Lutheran Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Sheboygan Police Department, the Sheboygan Fire Department and the nurses and doctors at Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan County for their excellent care of Tom.
