Armin H. Graefe, Jr, 90, of a resident of Pine Haven in Sheboygan Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Born February 24, 1932 in Sheboygan, Armin was a son of the late Armin Sr. and Frieda Sprenger Graefe. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from North High School in 1951. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Wilma E. Hinz at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. They were married for 43 years before Wilma preceded him in death on January 9, 2002.
Armin worked for Plastics Engineering for almost 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School and belonged to the XYZ Club. He also volunteered with Partners in Reading. For over 25 years, Armin volunteered at Maywood Environmental Park. He enjoyed all things outdoors including many games of croquet with his children and grandchildren. He loved games of all kinds and had a lot of fun playing cribbage and other card games with anyone who was willing to play and really enjoyed the tournaments at Plastics Engineering. He liked fishing on the pier and could often be seen walking his dogs near the lake or at Evergreen Park. He was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather who had a heart for the Lord and never let anything bother him.
He is survived by his two children, Joseph Graefe, Colecamp, MO, and Shelley (Shawn) Wehner, Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, Wilma, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Ken Mortensen; his brother, Wayne Graefe; a sister, Dolores (Donald) Rothe; and daughter-in-law, LeeAnn Graefe.
Funeral services for Armin will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
