The Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group’s Drug Unit, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration has located and recovered the largest fentanyl seizure in LWAM history.
That agency said last week that the investigation by the two agencies resulted in the seizure of about 12 pounds of suspected fentanyl in the form of 54,000 pills with a street value of over $500,000 along with a firearm. Two persons were arrested at an Appleton home as a result and charges are pending.
Officials say quality varies, but as a single pill can be fatal the amount seized could conceivably kill every resident of the City of Sheboygan.
A separate operation on Friday in Fond du Lac County that started as a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a Langlade County man who was armed and transporting 29 bags of THC edibles and about $70,000 cash which the LWAM suspects is related to area drug activity.
