James P. Lindow, age 64, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on Friday (December 9, 2022) at Froedtert Hospital due to complications from a fall at home 3 days prior.
Jim was born on November 12, 1958, in Plymouth to James W. Lindow and Kathy (Nee Meyer) Lindow Bruggink. He grew up in Elkhart Lake and attended Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah schools, graduating from Elkhart Lake High School in 1976.
Jim loved the outdoors, fall being his favorite season. He enjoyed many years deer hunting with friends, his brother and Parker. In recent years, he enjoyed meeting Parker after hunting to hear about his hunt. He took a lot of pride in his yard and loved feeding the birds. Tuesdays were spent with Garrett, McD’s for lunch and movie watching in the afternoon.
Jim enjoyed his breakfast outings with past co-workers from Johnsonville and International Auto Components (IAC) and his occasional Friday night fish fry with the “Elkhart Guys”.
On May 30th, 1981, Jim married Deanna Conard at St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Plymouth. Together they raised two sons Garrett James and Parker Louis.
Jim worked at Johnsonville for 9 years before starting at International Auto Components (IAC) in 1985, eventually going on disability in 2011 after IAC closed its doors in 2010.
Jim’s life changed following a November 5, 2015, brain surgery that had him finally returning home on March 25, 2016. One year later, a new brain bleed and rehab had him back at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. It seemed each subsequent surgery or procedure magnified his balance issues, and he was never quite able to get back to the point he had previously been at. He was a proud man, didn’t like having to be helped. His dedication to his Rehab and recovery and daily exercise regimen are what kept him going. He inspired many who knew him by his strength and determination and never complaining about his situation.
