Narcan Comes To Cop-Shop Vending Machine
JANESVILLE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) – The sheriff’s office in Rock County has installed a vending machine that provides free Narcan.
The agency says the vending machine contains the nasal spray used to treat a possible opioid overdose emergency, adding the dosage can be administered easily with little training necessary.
The Narcan dispensed by the machine at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Janesville is free, legal to carry and easily obtainable.
The sheriff’s office adds a QR code on the machine will trigger a two-minute training video on how to recognize an overdose and administer the medication.
People will enter the number next to their zip code and a Narcan box will drop down from the machine.
