MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The last Marquette University Law Poll for the 2022 Mid-Term election holds a margin of error of +/- 4.8%.
That number represents a comfortable cushion compared to the actual numbers that were released on Wednesday.
According to poll director Charles Franklin, the Governor’s race between Democrat Tony Evers and Republican challenger Tim Michels sits tied with each candidate polling at 48% support. That’s a one-point swing after the last poll showed Evers at 47% and Michels at 46%.
The US Senate race also tightened by two points. Incumbent Ron Johnson polled at 50%, and Democratic challenger Mandela Barnes earned 48%. The last poll showed Johnson with 52% and Barnes at 46%.
Additional data in the poll showed that 89% of Democrats and 83% of Republicans surveyed were “absolutely certain” to vote on Tuesday, November 8th. Additionally, ten percent of Democrats and three percent of Republicans said they had already submitted an absentee ballot.
