MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – In a long, back and forth game on Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers rallied late and held off the Colorado Rockies 10-9 at American Family Field.
The big blows were a game tying single from Rowdy Tellez and a two out double by Andrew McCutchen in the 8th inning which gave the Brewers a 10-8 advantage. Colorado scored one in the 9th off Josh Hader before he nailed down the save.
Hunter Renfroe and Tyrone Taylor had home runs for Milwaukee.
The two teams finish their four game series Monday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
Other Brewer news:
Pitcher Aaron Ashby signed a five year extension with the team which will keep him in a Brewer uniform through 2027. The team has options for 2028 & 29. Ashby has been up & down this season but is expected to be a big part of the rotation going forward. He’s scheduled to start Monday nights game.
The Brewers lost Jace Peterson to a left elbow sprain. Peterson, who is leading the Brewers in Wins Above Replacement this season, is expected to miss at least a month. The Brewers signed veteran pitcher Jake McGee to replace Peterson on the roster.
