MADISON – Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Young Farmer and Agriculturist committee is excited to announce new award categories for its members. Applications for the Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award and Farming for the Future Award are now available.
The Outstanding Agriculture Professional Award will recognize members who have an off-farm career while the Farming for the Future Award will recognize those members who own or work on the farm. Applicants are asked to share information about their role in agriculture, leadership experience and involvement in Farm Bureau.
“The Young Farmer and Agriculturist Committee is really excited to offer these new award areas for our members,” said WFBF YFA Chair Bob Nash. “We have outstanding members doing great things for agriculture and this is an opportunity for us to recognize their efforts.”
Applications for both awards are available at http://bit.ly/WIYFAContests and will be accepted until July 1. The winner of each award will receive $1,500 from GROWMARK, Inc., a trip to attend the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Conference in Jacksonville, Florida and be a guest of WFBF at the 2023 Young Farmer and Agriculturist Conference.
The WFBF YFA Program is for members ages 18-35. Its goal is to get more young farmers and agriculturists acquainted with and involved in Farm Bureau through involvement in a variety of networking, learning and social activities. The YFA Program is funded by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation.
