Bonnie Lou Zimmerman (nee Mitwede), age 66, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday (April 21,
2022) at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born on October 11, 1955 in Plymouth, WI, a daughter to Carol (nee Weihr) and the late David Mitwede.
Bonnie graduated from Plymouth High School. On May 14, 1977, she married John Zimmerman at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Bonnie loved watching and caring for children in her home.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and choir. She was also a lifetime member of the
Plymouth Snow Rangers.
Bonnie often talked of her first childhood memory of singing while swinging on her swing set. Singing was a
passion that won her several awards in high school and led to over thirty years as a soprano in her church choir. In
her final moments of life she was still singing.
A fond memory the children Bonnie cared for will share are of receiving gifts of her handwritten photo story
books. She loved capturing memories through the lens of her camera. She has created dozens of photo books and
original stories.
Bonnie coordinated many camping trips with her family. She enjoyed visiting Wisconsin state parks and
encouraged her grandchildren to share her love of nature by helping them complete their explorer badges. A child
at heart, she was always bringing the bubbles, art supplies, and bug catchers.
Survivors include her loving husband, John Zimmerman of Plymouth; two daughters, Angela Zimmerman (Partner
Robert Johnson) of Sheboygan and Jennifer Zimmerman of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Aidan Uscila, Liava Lou
Uscila, and Kira Lou Johnson; mother, Carol Miller (Mitwede); five siblings, Linda (Mike) Schuler of Plymouth,

Marek of Two Rivers; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean (Dave) Wacker of Hawaii, James Zimmerman of
Sheboygan, and Janet (Steve)Mitwede of Wausau.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Mitwede; grandparents, Gertrude Spirling and Edgar and Eloise
Weihr; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Zimmerman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday (April 28, 2022) at 2:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist
