The first Sheboygan County resident in their 20s to succumb to COVID-19 has been reported by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health in the Tuesday update. Until this date, no one in that demographic had died of the disease in Sheboygan County. Of the 266 casualties so far, one was between 10 and 19 years old, one in their 20s, six in their 30s, nine were in their 40s, nineteen in their 50s, forty-four in their 60s, seventy in their 70s, and one-hundred-sixteen were at least 80 years old.
With 5 recoveries and 6 new cases along with the casualty, the active case count remained at 73. 29,411 total cases have been recorded so far. The 7-day average of daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 was 6 as of Tuesday.
There were no changes in hospital statistics, and one patient remains hospitalized.
Four persons have received their first dose of vaccine in the last day; seven more got their second dose, and 20 more received their boosters. That puts totals at 72,520 (62.9%) with at least one dose, 69,530 (60.3%) with two doses, and 37,947 (32.9%) with boosters.
The James Madison Elementary School remains the only education or long-term care facility currently hosting a facility-wide investigation.
