MADISON, WI (WSAU) – Former state supreme court justice Michael Gableman will present his final report on election integrity and vote counting on Tuesday. He will appear in front of the assembly’s Elections Committee to review his findings and to answer questions.
A spokesman says while Gableman initially planned to turn in the report Monday, he was taking another day to polish up the final product with plans to deliver copies to both Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Rep. Janel Brandtjen, who chairs the Assembly’s elections committee.
Gableman was hired by Vos in June to review the state’s 2020 election results, which showed Joe Biden defeating Donald Trump by 22,000 votes.
Trump supporters mounted a series of legal challenges which were turned away in court.
Gableman has complained that his investigation was hindered by mayors and election officials in Madison and Green Bay. They’d refused to respond to his subpoenas over money from the Mark Zuckerberg-backed Center for Tech and Civic Life which was used to assist in managing the election.
There have also been questions about the accuracy of Wisconsin’s voter rolls, which may contain the names of some people who have died or moved away.
