MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WHBL) – The short-handed Wisconsin mens basketball team held off Minnesota 68-67 on Wednesday night at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.
Steven Crowl broke a 62-62 tie with under two-and-a-half minutes left in the game with a jumper that put the Badgers up for good. Brad Davison then hit a couple of free throws late that iced the game.
Crowl had 20 points and seven rebounds while Tyler Wahl had 12 points and 10 boards to lead Wisconsin. Johnny Davis fouled out with 12 points.
Jamison Battle led Minnesota with 17 points in the loss. Minnesota falls to 13-13 overall with a 4-13 Big Ten record.
Wisconsin has won 33 of the last 42 games with the Gophers since 1999.
The Badgers were without guards Jacobi Neath (suspension) and Lorne Bowman (illness) so Jordan Davis got some extended time, scoring seven points in just over 20 minutes of action.
The 13th ranked Badgers, now 22-5, 13-4 in Big Ten, will travel to Rutgers on Saturday.
