MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Bucks decided to sit out Giannis Antetokounmpo with a sore ankle. Without him they couldn’t keep pace with the Portland Trail Blazers, losing 122-107 on Monday night at Fiserv Forum.
Portland scored 71 points in the first half and never trailed.
The Bucks did have six players in double figures but it wasn’t enough. Jrue Holiday led the way with 23 points. Jordan Nwora and Bobby Portis had 17 each. Khris Middleton added 16 points.
Anfernee Simons scored 31 points to lead Portland. Josh Hart added 27 points and Jusuf Nurkic finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds.
The Bucks also announced that Pat Connaugton had successful surgery on his hand and will miss four weeks.
Milwaukee, now 35-23, will host Indiana Tuesday night.
