Elwood C. โYotoโ Binder, age 91, of Cascade, WI, passed away early Thursday afternoon (Dec. 16, 2021) at Kindred Hearts in Plymouth where he had been a resident for the past nine months.
He was born on April 23, 1930 in Plymouth, WI, a son of the late William Binder Jr. and Anna (Kracht) Binder.
Elwood attended Plymouth grade schools and graduated from Plymouth High school in 1948.
On April 21, 1951 he married Mae M. Warner at St. Paulโs Lutheran Church in Cascade.
The couple has resided in Cascade since their marriage. Mae preceded him in death on April 18, 2007.
Elwood worked at Bordenโs Foods, Master Gallery Cheese Company and at Sysco Corp. in Fond du Lac working well into his 80โs and served as the Cascade Village Clerk for many years.
He was a member of St. Paulโs Lutheran Church in Cascade and also belonged to the Cascade Volunteer Fire Department for a long time. He was a volunteer driver for the Office of Aging in Sheboygan for many years.
Elwood was an avid bowler with numerous 700 series and bowled a 300 game to his credit. He was a fan of PHS sports, Plymouth Flames and enjoyed attending all kinds of sporting events. He coached the Bil-Mar Bowl womenโs softball team and enjoyed mowing his lawn on his J.D. tractor until he was 90.
Survivors include: Two daughters: Candace Meyer of Plymouth and Shelley Binder of Stevens Point, WI; Two grandsons: Trevor (Kathryn) Meyer of Plymouth and Shawn (Nicola) Meyer of Santa Monica, CA; Four Grandchildren: Addison and Quinn Meyer and Zara and Vaughn Meyer; Special friend to the family: Marcy Mirman of Stevens Point, WI.
He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Mae, One brother: Harold (Bette) Binder and Two sisters: Marcella (Kenneth) Roltgen and Delores (Milton) Miller. Sister-in laws: Sallie (Glenn) Nelson, Patricia (John) Krupp and Nancy (Reilly) Skelton and Brother-in-law: Edward Kramer.
Following Elwoodโs wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place in the
Spring of 2022. Inurnment will be in St. Paulโs Cemetery in Cascade.
A memorial fund is being established in Elwoodโs name.
