GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — There could soon be a big decision in Wisconsin’s US Senate race. Republican incumbent Ron Johnson says he’s expecting to make a decision on running for a third term “soon”.
“If you’re in a position to offer some improvement, help the situation out, would you just walk away?” Johnson asked during an interview with FOX 11.
Johnson had, in 2016, said he only planned on seeking two terms, but cited policies rolled out under Joe Biden and criticism of Democratic control in Washington as reasons he may run again.
“In 2016, it’s true it was my intention, I say my strong preference, was to serve a second term and then go home,” said Johnson.
Democrats seeking his seat, including billionaire Alex Lasry, Lt. Gov Mandela Barnes, and Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson, have targeted Johnson as though he is in the race.
