WAUKESHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A sixth intentional homicide charge has been filed against the man accused of plowing into a Christmas parade near Milwaukee.
Online court records show Waukesha County prosecutors filed the count Monday against Darrell Brooks. The charge comes after Jackson Sparks, 8, became the sixth person to die as a result of the attack.
Brooks is accused of driving his SUV into the parade and spectators in downtown Waukesha on Nov. 21. Prosecutors allege he ignored police officers’ warnings to stop as he approached the parade route.
In addition to the six killed, more than 60 people were injured.
The criminal complaint did not give a motive for Brooks’ alleged actions.
Brooks is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Jan. 14.
