WAUKESHA, WI (WSAU) — A holiday parade in Waukesha came to an abrupt end after a red SUV broke through police barriers and sped down the parade route, with some parade-goers reporting there may have been shots fired in the incident.
A live stream of the parade from the City of Waukesha’s Facebook page showed a marching band coming down the street, followed by some honks and a speeding red vehicle. Several gasps and shouts from the crowd could be heard in the 15-second clip, followed by a police officer running down the route.
This was recorded from the City of Waukesha’s Facebook account, which was streaming the parade.

Waukesha’s Mayor, Shawn Reilly, confirms there have been multiple injuries though it does not appear that there is any current danger to the public.
Police are asking people to avoid the downtown area. Those who have been separated from their families are asked to go to the Metro Transit Center on Bank Street to be reunited.
It’s unclear how many suspects were involved or if they have been arrested. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
