KENOSHA, WI (WTAQ) – The jury has resumed deliberations in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.
Just after 5:30 Tuesday evening, the jury suspended deliberation for the day. The jury reconvened at 9:00 Wednesday morning.
Jurors listened to a full day of arguments on Monday before being told to return Tuesday morning to begin deliberations in the case.
The anonymous, 12-member jury began deliberating after Rittenhouse was allowed by the judge to draw pieces of paper from a raffle drum, determining which of the 18 people who sat in judgment during the trial would decide his fate.
Rittenhouse faces five charges, including first-degree reckless homicide, two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, first-degree intentional homicide, and attempted first-degree intentional homicide. All charges have a ‘use of a dangerous weapon’ enhancer.
Local police and the National Guard are on standby in the case of retaliation following the verdict in the case.
