MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The state Department of Health Services reported 1,197 new cases on Sunday, pushing the seven-day average to 2,193. The average hit a low of 1,840 on Oct. 30 before its recent rise.
Test positivity averaged 8.9% for the most recent seven-day period.
Three deaths reported Sunday were linked on COVID-19. The seven-day average stood at 14.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 809,840 total confirmed cases and 8,627 deaths.
As of Monday, 58.1% of the state’s population had received at least one dose of vaccine and 55.1% had completed the vaccine series.

Hospitalizations were also on the rise. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported treating 995 COVID-19 patients, 22 more than on Sunday and 85 more than a week earlier. Of those, 273 were in intensive care, 18 more than on Sunday and the same as a week earlier.
Of the 1,353 ICU beds in the state, 7.3% were immediately available.
Northeast region hospitals has 132 COVID-19 patients, up 12 in a day but down 10 over a week. Of those, 34 were in ICUs, up three in a day but down three over a week. In the Fox Valley region, there were 82 COVID-19 patients, four fewer than on Sunday but 12 more than a week earlier. Eight of those were in ICUs, down two in a day and four over a week.
