KENOSHA, WI (METRO) – There is a jury for Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial in Kenosha.
Prosecutors and the defense agreed on a jury of eleven women and nine men yesterday. Opening statements are set to begin this morning.
Rittenhouse is facing homicide and weapons charges.
The jury in the case must decide whether Rittenhouse acted in self-defense, as his lawyers claim, or was engaged in vigilantism when the then 17-year-old opened fire with an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle in August 2020, killing two men and wounding a third.
The judge in the case is expecting the rest of the trial to take about two weeks.
