Like most things in the grocery store lately, we may see higher prices on pizza and bagels very soon. This comes after a wheat contract reached $10/bushel on Friday.
This is the first time the price has been that high since 2012. One of the main reasons is that the growing season saw extreme heat and drought conditions throughout most of the wheat production area in the country.
According to USDA, 89% of places that grow wheat are still dealing with drought. Plus, globally wheat is also running low.
