BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s cabinet on Sunday outlined measures to achieve a transition to a low carbon economy but said the supply chain, food and energy security must be considered amid its efforts to cut pollution and carbon emissions.
Chinese President Xi Jinping last year announced that the country would bring its carbon emissions to a peak by 2030, but the country is currently facing a severe energy shortage that threatens to overshadow those ambitions.
