MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is the latest school to reach the 70% vaccination mark among students.
That makes them the 7th UW campus to hit the target in the “70 for 70” campaign, making vaccinated students on their campus eligible for a drawing for a $7,000 scholarship.
At least two other campuses are within range to reach the 70% mark before the end of the competition, which is October 31st. That includes UW-Stevens Point who sits at 67% and UW-Green Bay at 62%.
Other campuses that have crossed the 70% mark include Eau Claire, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Stout, and Whitewater. The flagship campus in Madison is not participating, as they had their own campus vaccine challenge and boast a vaccination rate of well over 90%.
UW Superior, Parkside, and Platteville are in the 50% range.
The “70 for 70” campaign deadline had originally been today, October 15th. Officials extended the deadline in late September as more campuses made late pushes to the 70% mark.
Any campus that doesn’t reach the 70% mark will have their scholarship dollars
