MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers late season slump continued with a 10-2 thrashing from St. Louis on Wednesday night at American Family Field.
Brett Anderson got lit up in his return from the IL, giving up six runs on six hits in just one and two-thirds innings. Three other bullpen pitchers gave up runs before position player Jace Peterson pitched a scoreless ninth.
Avisail Garcia hit his 29th homer for Milwaukee. Luis Urias had the other RBI.
Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neill each hit home runs for the Cardinals. Nolan Arenado and Tommy Edman each drove in a pair of runs. Miles Mikolas gave up just two runs over seven innings to get the win for the Cardinals, who have won 11 straight.
The Brewers, meanwhile, have lost four in a row and six of their last eight. Their magic number to clinch the division remains at three.
