When Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana, Sheriff employees there were victims like everyone else, some of them suffering personal devastating losses in the storm and its aftermath. That’s prompted relief efforts here in Wisconsin, and Sheboygan County Sheriff Cory Roeseler is asking for help from his employees and the public to support those families.
The Badger State Sheriffs’ Association is asking every Wisconsin Sheriff to help raise donations in the “Sheriffs Adopting Sheriffs” Hurricane Ida assistance project. Each of Wisconsin’s 72 Sheriffs Offices are joining the effort to raise a goal of at least $10,000 for each of 8 families now identified in need – and that number might grow to 10.
Sheboygan County Sheriff Roeseler said he’d like to double or triple the amount needed for Sheboygan County by raising a minimum of $2,000 to help as many people as possible, noting that every dollar donated will go directly to those families.
Donations will be accepted through October 15th.
Checks can be made out to SCLEA and mailed to:
