
Richard J Kurtz, 80, formerly of Sheboygan, died peacefully on Sunday afternoon September 5, 2021, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born on September 4th, 1941, in Sheboygan the son of the late Walter Kurtz and late Luella Kurtz. Richard graduated from Central High School in 1960.
On July 13, 1963, he married the love his life Carol A. Kurtz (Haag) at first United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Richard and Carol enjoyed nearly 50 years together before she preceded him in death on February 12, 2013.
Richard started working at Hayssen Manufacturing right out of high school for over 20 years until the company moved down south. He then started at Nigrelli in School Hill for over 20 years and then retired.
Richard was an avid outdoor Sportsman who belonged to Great Lakes Sportsman’s club and Farmers and Sportsmen’s Club. Richard lived for fishing and hunting with his family and friends. His best friend since third grade was John Repphun. In his free time, he enjoyed stopping and socializing with his many friends. He loved going to the family Cabin in Florence Co. For many years he was an avid gardener and he especially enjoyed watching the birds.
He raised homing pigeons and had many beloved dogs and other pets throughout the years.
Survivors include his children; Pamela (William)Langley, Sheboygan, Patty Kurtz (Stewart Sargent), Howard’s Grove, Thomas (Stacy) Kurtz, Valders. John (Kat Hench) Kurtz, Amberg, grandchildren; Justin (Laura Albright-Hemb) Kurtz, Saint Nazianz, Julia Kurtz, Valders, Austin Kurtz, Valders, Joe (Becci) Block, Sheboygan Jessica Kraus, Sheboygan. Many Nephews and Nieces and friends.
He is further survived by his brother Gary (Samanatha) Kurtz, Colorado, Sister Cathy Green, Florida. Sister-in-law Karen (Roland) Schmidt, Fond du lac. Jane Norton, Fond du lac. Brother-in-laws, Dennis (Vicki) Haag, Las Vegas. Richard Haag, Colorado. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Kurtz, Parents, Sister-in-Law Donna Edwards, Brother-in-law Gene Norton. Nephew Raine Edwards.
A celebration of life will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name that will be going to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.

his last days.
