SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WHBL) – Three Milwaukee Brewer pitchers struck out 15 San Francisco Giant hitters in a 6-2 win on Tuesday night.
Brandon Woodruff went six innings for the Crew, picking up his 9th win. He struck out eight, giving up one run on five hits. Jake Cousins struck out the side in the 7th and Brent Suter finished up with four strikeouts in two innings of work.
Johnny Cueto got the start for the Giants. The Brewers jumped on him for 10 hits and six runs in 3 2/3 innings of work.
Lorenzo Cain hit his 6th home run of the year. He had two RBIs and so did Omar Narvaez. Avi Garcia and Rowdy Tellez drove in the other runs for the Brewers.
San Francisco was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and has lost four of its last five.
The Brewers head into September at 81-52, 10 games up on the Reds in the NL Central.
