You can help the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources track the number of deer in our county and state.
“Operation Deer Watch” uses your information sent on a computer, mobile device or snail mail, and asks you to report sightings of bucks, does and fawns between August 1st and September 30th. The data collected will give insights into the reproductive status of Wisconsin’s deer herd and help shape deer management for the state.
The DNR estimates that some 12,800 whitetail deer occupy Sheboygan County, an increase of nearly 3,000 since last year’s post-hunt figures.
If you’d like to help, you can find Operation Deer Watch online here, and a printable tally sheet can be found here.
