Mildred Frances Haen, age 93, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 28, 2021, at
Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with her loving daughters and sons at her side.
Mildred was born on December 19, 1927, son of the late Aloys and Margaret (Jentges) VanTreeck. She attended St.
George Catholic School. On June 18, 1949, Mildred married Roman Haen at St. George Catholic Church. Roman
preceded her in death on September 5, 2016. Mildred was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,
Plymouth.
Mildred was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband Roman on their dairy farm in the Town of Wilson. She
also worked with Roman at the Sheboygan Press. Mildred enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening (with
her produce going to many), crocheting, doing word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards.
Mildred is survived by two daughters and four sons: Margaret (David) Lehrke of Glenbeulah, Anna Slimmer of
Howards Grove, Thomas Haen of Plymouth, Victor (Patricia) Haen of Sheboygan, George Haen of Tempe, AZ, and
Richard Haen of Kiel. Mildred is further survived by 15 grandchildren: Maryanne (James) Justinger, Matthew (Carrie)
Lehrke, Mark (Jennifer) Lehrke, Robert (Gwendolyn) Regan, Kelly (Matthew) Hensler, Jan (David) Strysick, Laura
(Monty) Hagberg, Brett (Brooke) Slimmer, Chad Haen, Stacy (Craig) Chambers, Amy (Daniel) Springhetti, Nathan
Haen, Christina Haen, Anthony (Courtney) Haen, and Ian Haen. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren: Krista
Landwehr, Tanya Landwehr, Tessa and Alysha Lehrke, Paige and Emma Lehrke, Patrick and Melanie Regan, Erin, Sara
and Jacob Hensler, Logan (fiancé Danielle), Marlee and Dawson Strysick, Maxell and Riley Hagberg, Mackenzie,
Austin and Carson Slimmer, and Madison and Cooper Springhetti; and three great-great-granddaughters,
Mackenzie, Ryleigh and Ella. One sister and two brothers as well as one brother-in-law also survive her: Delores
Mueller, Alvin (Marie) VanTreeck, Paul (Karen) VanTreeck and Norbert (Adeline) Haen. Mildred is also survived by
many other relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Roman; her parents, Aloys and Margaret VanTreeck; her father and
mother-in-law, Peter and Mary Haen; children, Kathleen, Joseph (Barbara) and Jerome Haen; son-in-law, Larry
Slimmer; sisters, brother, and in-laws, Theodore, Wilmer, and Mabel VanTreeck, Evelyn (James) McCabe, Melvin
VanTreeck, Sylvester Mueller, Henry (Marie) Haen, John Haen, Rev. Edmund Haen, Julia Haen, Marie (Roman)
Hermann, Agnes (John) Mersberger, Florence (Ralph) Mulloy and Alphonse (Pearl) Haen.
Funeral services to celebrate Mildred’s life will be held on Sunday (August 1, 2021) at 1:00 PM at Suchon Funeral
Home (1317 State Road 67, Plymouth) with Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,
officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM until the time of service. A
luncheon will follow the memorial service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. George Cemetery
following the luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mildred’s name.
