Over the past week, active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County dropped by 3, to 27 cases now being monitored according to the Division of Public Health. That’s the result of 10 recoveries, while 7 new cases were found, raising the running county total to 13,900. There were no deaths recorded since last Thursday with that toll at 151, and three persons are currently hospitalized.
During the same 1-week period, the Wisconsin DHS added 575 new cases to raise the pandemic total to 613,484. Deaths in the state now total 7,335, an increase of two in the past week.
Sheboygan County is experiencing a “Medium” activity level as measured in the two-week rates and trajectories. And although the burden rose from 21.0 the previous week to 22.7 per 100,000 persons this week, the trajectory was considered to display “no significant change”.
There are 2 active facility-wide investigations in Sheboygan County, one educational facility, and one “other” setting.
Vaccination rates in Sheboygan County have picked up pace during the week, with 352 doses given so far this week according to Thursday’s data from the State DHS. 49%, or 56,503 county residents, have received at least one dose, while 53,878, or 46.7%, are fully vaccinated. Wisconsin is at 50.6% and 47.8% respectively.
