Life’s great journey was finished on June 25, 2021 for Kent Alan Wilson of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Born to Alan and Mary (Redmond) Wilson, his life began on January 28, 1953 in Beloit, WI.
On December 31, 1993, Kent married Danie Ann Doyle, his friend, the one he laughed with, lived for, dreamed with, loved. Kent was a loving and devoted father to their combined family and a cherished grandfather to their 15 grandchildren.
Kent was a dedicated golfer and a card playing enthusiast. He traveled the world with Danie and enjoyed being an Arizona snowbird. Kent enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and many golf tournaments. Kent was very interested in his Irish heritage and appreciated ‘everything Irish’. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 243 of Plymouth.
His 31-year Law Enforcement Career was a life dedicated to service that touched many lives in a positive and memorable way. His early professional career included the Quad County Drug Unit (1974), Portage Police Department (1975-1982), and Police Chief for the Village of Oxford (1975-1976). In 1982 Kent joined the Sheboygan Police Department as a Patrolman, EMT and drug investigator. In 1993 he became Sergeant of the Drug Unit and in 1996, Lieutenant in command of the Multi-jurisdictional Enforcement Unit until retirement in 2005.
Kent is predeceased by his mother and sister, Denise Keller. He is survived by his father Alan; his wife Danie Ann (Doyle) Wilson; his siblings Cindy (Michael) Udell, Dawn (Andrew) VanBrocklin, and Brian Wilson all of Beloit; his sons Casey (Celene) of Clarksburg, Maryland, Corey (Jennifer) of Menomonee Falls and Kenneth of Plymouth; his step-children Diana (Jason) Schaefer of Kiel, Shane (Patricia) Sitzman of Kiel and Michelle (James Jr.) Markevitch of Sheboygan; and his grandchildren Avery and Madelyn Wilson; Mason, Andrew and Jack Wilson; Ocean and Lucian Schaefer; Koen, Emerson, Aislinn and William Sitzman; and Teaghan, Payton, Lauren and Emery Markevitch.
A Celebration of Life with Police Honors will be held at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home on July 6th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service to follow.
C.O.P.S. Kids Camp Foundation will receive a donation in Kent’s name from donations made in lieu of flowers.
