Sheboygan County will be receiving portions of $1.41 million dollars in coastal grants announced on Monday by Governor Tony Evers. The grants are administered by Wisconsin’s Coastal Management Program to support quality of life, foster economic development, create resiliency, and to protect and improve the Great Lakes resources in Wisconsin’s coastal communities.
The City of Sheboygan will receive $25,000 for the development of a Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan for the city; another $25,000 will be used by the city to develop a Shoreline Restoration Plan. And $30,000 will be granted for Phase-1 of a Nine Key Element Sheboygan River Watershed Plan submitted by the Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership.
The grant funds are part of Wisconsin’s federally funded Coastal Management Program.
