MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Keston Hiura recorded a walk-off sac fly in the bottom of the 11th to send the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-4 win over the Colorado Rockies on what was dubbed re-opening day at American Family Field on Friday.
Willy Adames led the offense with three hits and two RBI in five at-bats. That included a two-run homer in the 9th that tied the game at 4.
Kolten Wong recorded two hits including a solo later in the 8th.
Hiura finished the game with one hit and two RBI, including the game-winner.
Starter Corbin Burnes was effective through six innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run, but he didn’t factor in the decision. After he was pulled, a string of four relievers bridged the gap to Devin Williams who struck out two in the 11th and was credited with the win.
The same two teams will continue the three-game set Saturday afternoon with pregame coverage beginning at 2:35 on WHBL.
